As a Freelance Community Manager for the agency AKQA I was tasked with increasing engagement for Move1. Move1 was a Nike led initiative with partners including the British heart foundation, Sustrans and the Young Foundation. The aim of Move1 was to increase physical activity in children and parents in the UK by at least one hour a day.
I managed the Facebook and Twitter communities and sourced content for both pages. During my contract the Facebook community doubled and Twitter engagement increased.
We shifted our focus to a positive spin, slightly younger demographic, reduced advertising spend and saw an increase in engagement and reach, we received huge amounts of User Generated Content from our audiences.
Using insights from our target audience we developed content that was useful and interesting including highlighting the Gruffalo trails by the Forestry Commission and geocaching combining technology and physical activity.
